Eternal Storm Gods
“Rimpa” is one of the artistic styles from the late Momoyama period to the modern era. This work is a faithful reproduction by Ogata Kōrin of a piece originally created by Tawaraya Sōtatsu, one of the founders of the Rimpa school. The fluttering robe of the wind god evokes a violent air current, while the powerful drumming of the thunder god evokes the sound of a thunderbolt.
